CATALONIA FROM THE PYRENEES TO THE COAST
The main goal of this route is to get to know a part of the Catalan territory following the old railway lines out of service, adapted nowadays for bikes, hikers and horses and some forest tracks. This route is known as “Ruta del Carrilet”.
During this journey you can visit the most characteristic spots in the Pre-Pyrenees, Garrotxa Volcanic Zone, Girona and Costa Brava.

ROUTE PLANNING
1rst DAY
Pick up from Girona Downtown or Girona Aiport (we also offer you the option to pick you up at Barcelona, but the total price would be different). Arrival at Olot, where you can visit the different towns of La Vall d’en Bas (Joanetes, Hostalets d’en Bas, La Pinya, La Canya, Sant Privat d’en Bas and Sant Esteve d’en Bas).
2nd DAY
We start the route at the hotel from Olot and following “vies verdes” we ride slightly uphill towards Coll d’en Bas (620m). Afterwards, we start a very pleasant way downhill to Amer, where we are going to spend the night in a Rural Hotel.
It is advisable to have lunch either in Les Planes d’Hostoles or Amer. These towns are located halfway between Olot and Girona and they were formerly known by their natural pools. Les Planes d’Hostoles should be pointed out by its natural pools and Amer by its Porches Plaza (considered to be the second biggest in Catalonia).
3rd DAY
We continue the route following “vies verdes” from Amer to Girona, capital of the province, where we can visit the old town, the Jewish quarter or the Cathedral. We are going to spend the night in a 4 Star Hotel located at the city centre.
4th DAY
We are going to spend the day around Girona, visiting the city with the touristic train and a local guide. This night we are going to sleep at the same 4 Star Hotel.
5th DAY
Starting the route from Girona and following “vies verdes” we arrive to S’Agaró, where we are going to spend the night in a 4 Star Hotel near the coast.
The route from Girona to the coast goes slightly uphill and reaches the highest point in Cassà de la Selva (136m).
It is advisable to stop and have lunch in Llagostera.
6th DAY
Starting the route from S’Agaró and following forest tracks, we arrive at Palamós, where we are going to spend the night in a Rural Villa. In the same villa we are going to visit a wine cellar and do a wine tasting.
7th DAY
In the last day of your route we are going to ride from Palamós to Calella de Palafrugell, following different forest tracks. We are going to spend the night in a 4 Star Hotel in Calella de Palafrugell, near the coast.
8th DAY
Time to go back. If you haven’t booked a private transport, we can bring you to Barcelona or Girona.
